EPA ISSUES FOUNDRY SAND STATEMENT

Following a data review, EPA announced that it supports the use of ferrous and aluminum foundry sands in a number of common reuse applications. The statement is an outcome of a positive collaboration among EPA, AFS, and FIRST and is one of the Action Items requested at the 2005 Foundry Sand Stakeholders Meeting.

EPA Debuts State Toolkit

This site summarizes information on foundry sand reuse and recycling in the United States. Your inputs are important so PLEASE REGISTER so that we can deliver the information that you need.

Website SUBSCRIBERS have access to a number of areas of the website not available to the general public. These include document downloads from the Technical Library, access to specifications and more detailed technical information compiled under Technical Applications, and access to presentations given at industry-sponsored forums.

The Foundry Recycling Website is maintained by the metalcasting industry, through AFS-FIRST, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization. AFS-FIRST and its industry and government partners participate in a wide range of market development activities. These include national research projects; specification development; education and technology transfer; and workshop delivery. We urge you to JOIN FIRST in order to support the development of a sustainable recycling infrastructure for American foundries.
